I started doing yoga in the 1980’s and have loved it ever since. But as a blind man I discovered that most yoga teachers, although well meaning, were sorely lacking in describing poses in yoga classes and workshops that I attended. My frustration about this was the catalyst to motivate me toward creating my 5 CD yoga program, Beginning Yoga for the Blind and visually Impaired. (www.blindyoga.net) I teamed up with Gretchen Hein, a certified Kripalu yoga teacher, and together we spent many hours working on developing a yoga program that could be clearly understood and easily followed by people with little or no vision. You will hear Gretchen's voice in this audio. In addition to visually impaired people, many sighted yoga lovers have benefited from following my unique yoga program. I am very proud of the fact that my efforts have made it possible and enjoyable for so many blind and visually impaired people to get involved with yoga. And now I am thrilled that many sighted yoga lovers are delighted with it too. After thirty years I still love receiving the benefits from yoga and I practice yoga each and every day.
