“We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time.” T. S. Eliot
Karin is a 500 E-RYT yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance. She has always been a seeker. Karin began her yoga journey in the early 80’s when Iyengar yoga was the only kind of yoga available in the part of Philly where she grew up. As such it is her first love. But it was her desire to want to know the whys and hows of everything that caused her to branch out and study several different styles of yoga with some of the top name yoga teachers. While that was great for building a good resume and a broad knowledge base Karin eventually returned to the study of Iyengar Yoga. She believes the advice one of her early mentors gave her when Karin asked her whether she should do a training with some other name brand yoga teacher. Her mentor said: “You want to study with a teacher who knows you and knows your practice. For yoga to be truly transformative, you can’t hide in a crowd. You want a teacher who sees you for who you truly are, with all of your imperfections!”
It doesn't interest me where or what or with whom you have studied. I want to know what sustains you from the inside, when all else falls away. – Oriah Mountain Dreamer
Digging deep into the hows and whys of yoga lead Karin first into the study of asana, which lead to the study of anatomy and then, since your brain sends nerve cells into every square inch of your body, into the deeper philosophy. Karin has been teaching Yoga since 2000 and leading Teacher Trainings since 2006. She also teaches workshops in anatomy, assisting, alignment and philosophy. While her classes are detailed and precise, the end result is a well choreographed experience of the physical, energetic, mental, intellectual and blissful layers of the body.
