I first rolled out my yoga mat 15 years ago, while recuperating from an overuse injury. I initially hoped yoga would help me regain physical strength, but along the way my practice became much more important than that. Yoga, both on and off the mat, has helped me learn to be much more gentle and compassionate with myself and with others. That commitment to gentleness and compassion inspired me to teach.
I started teaching yoga in 2010 and in group classes, with private clients, and online, I hold a supportive space for people to appreciate their bodies and whole selves, exactly as they are. I'm a firm believer that there is no one "right" way to practice a pose, so I invite you to give yourself plenty of room to explore what feels right for you today. Get curious! Approach your yoga just like you would a conversation with someone you really care about. Listen with the intention of understanding. And as often as you can, respond with kindness. I've recently been featured in MindBodyGreen, Elephant Journal, and DoYouYoga, talking about yoga as self care for better sleep, body positivity, and finding comfort during low times.
