Imbolic marks the beginning of lambing season in the Celtic seasonal calendar. It signals the beginning of spring and the stirrings of new life. This yoga practice prepares us for what's to come-be it a baby or a special project (this class is nice for expectant mothers, but it great for others as well). We'll do variations of Malasana (squat post), in a variety of orientations. Follow the instructions for Paula if you're using a chair to help support your postures (or if you have persnickity knees). If you'd like to join us aromatically, you might want to diffuse an oil or blend similar to the Maitri blend I used, which includes Australian sandalwood, ylang-ylang, patchouli, frankincense, clary sage, coriander and vetiver. P.S. If, like Lizzie, you develop a cramp at all during practice, drink some water. Photo credit: Fournier & Malloy Photographers
