This class moves through Virabhadrasana 1 (Warrior 1) and several other closed-hip variations, including sunbird, crescent Warrior III, and Humble Warrior (Baddha Virabhadrasana). Whether you're new to the practice or familiar with these postures, the breakdown of the shapes may help you approach them from a different perspective. If I had my wish everyone would use four blocks for this class, set up in "towers" at the right and left sides of the front edge of the mat (the lower blocks on the lowest height and the upper blocks on the highest height). Make do with whatever you have--it's nice having options. During this class we also use the special hand position of ratna prabha mudra--as well as lemon essential oil--to tap into our sense of vitality. Do join us!
