Incorporating yin yoga, intention, meditation & mudra, this class will not only target the body’s connective tissues with longer held poses but will give you the opportunity to stretch your mind as you soften from the day’s activities, releasing stress and reconnecting to yourself, allowing you to reclaim your day as you move into your evening. Most, if not all postures will be done on the floor, with many using bolsters to facilitate deeper connection. This class took place on 10/30/19 under a waxing crescent moon in Sagittarius. We are working with the 1st quarter energy of the moon cycle which is the week of emergence where we focus on needs & desires to start new projects & ventures. We also begin to take small actions (planning) to set a foundation to build toward your intention. With the moon in Sagittarius, we feel an optimistic approach to life and may feel the need to set goals The Ushas Mudra is introduced. This mudra is the gesture of the dawn for opening to new possibilities. The fingers are interlaced loosely and resting the hands on the lap, with the palms upward. the tips of the thumbs may lightly touch each other. Ushas Mudra supports us in welcoming each day enthusiastically as a field of infinite possibilities. Ushas Mudra helps to clear the mind, reducing negative thinking, allowing us to meet new projects and activities with a sense of openness and curiosity.
