This class comes from my Self-Care Weekend Retreat for caregivers. It opens with an explanation and practice of the Gayatri mantra: Sanskrit: Oṃ bhūr bhuvaḥ svaḥ Phonetic: Om bhoor bhu-wah swa-ha Sanskrit: tát savitúr váreṇ(i)yaṃ Phonetic: tat savi-tur varen-i-yam Sanskrit: bhárgo devásya dhīmahi Phonetic: bhar-go de-va-sya dheem-a-hi Sanskrit: dhíyo yó naḥ prachodáyāt Phonetic: dhiyo yo nah pra-cho-day-at "We meditate on the divine light that is the source of life, and pray for that light to illuminate our understanding." This casual practice also uses elastic breathing bands tied around the rib area. You can use a piece of stretchy fabric, scarf, or soft belt. It also features a meditation with an aquamarine crystal and closes with an explanation of aum. Please use whatever other props you need to find a comfortable seat.
