This class comes from my Self-Care Weekend Retreat, and is inspired by a Jon Kabat-Zinn meditation. It opens with the Gayatri mantra: Sanskrit: Oṃ bhūr bhuvaḥ svaḥ Phonetic: Om bhoor bhu-wah swa-ha Sanskrit: tát savitúr váreṇ(i)yaṃ Phonetic: tat savi-tur varen-i-yam Sanskrit: bhárgo devásya dhīmahi Phonetic: bhar-go de-va-sya dheem-a-hi Sanskrit: dhíyo yó naḥ prachodáyāt Phonetic: dhiyo yo nah pra-cho-day-at We meditate on the divine light that is the source of life, and pray for that light to illuminate our understanding This session also includes a brief practice of Surya Bhedan (Sun Piercing Breath) and Padma Mudra.
