This hip-opening flow explores such postures as Virabhadrasana (Warrior) II, Skandasana (pose dedicated to the god of war), Prasarita (wide-legged forward bend), Utkata Konasana (goddess), Malasana (squat), and more, while finding sources of lightness throughout. This class was recorded before Diwali, the Indian celebration of light over darkness, so we revisit that theme throughout our sequences.Class closes with a discussion and practice of Om. Follow the instructions given to Paula if you'll be using the support of a chair during your practice. Given that Diwali falls during autumn, you may like to join us aromatically as well by diffusing a blend of any of the following essential oils: frankincense, patchouli, ginger, clove, and orange, the oils featured in my own Samhain Eve blend.
