Mirror the turning of the seasons with a practice that starts with the freedom and energy of the summer, and delivers us to the deliberate slowness and quiet of autumn. After several minutes of fluid slow flowing, this class includes the standing restorative postures supported wide-legged forward fold (salamba prasarita padottonasana) and supported downward-facing dog (salamba adho mukha svanasana), through legs up the wall (salamba viparita karani) and supported bound angle (salamba supta boddha konasana), to savasana. Don't worry if you're not practicing in a studio fully stocked with lots of bolsters and blankets, or even if you don't have the props that are suggested here. Throughout class you'll hear some tips about how to best support your restorative practice with things like rolled mats, extra towels, the wall, etc. Consider diffusing your favorite blend of essential oils that's most reminiscent of fall.
