This track is accompanied by lovely ambient music and whale song. Some of you may know I have severe insomnia - it started around 16 years ago, and it has a great influence on my life. One thing I learned over many years is that surrender is a key component of coping with insomnia. Instead of being frustrated that I can't sleep, relaxing my body and mind in wakefulness leaves me with much more energy and vitality. This yoga nidra practice that Lakshmi Nair (Satya Yoga Collective for People of Color) and I created is a wonderful way of surrendering mind and body in a restful and gentle way. You will practice guided meditations including soothing visualizations, following your breath, and relaxation of your body, part by part. There is also an introduction to yoga nidra which explains details about how to do this practice. You can skip this intro when you become familiar with the practice.
